HOW MANY SHIFTERS ARE AVAILABLE IN MY AREA?

ShiftPixy works diligently through various digital marketing avenues to build a strong bench of available workers (“Shifters”) close to our client locations.  At any given time, in most service areas, there are several hundred potential Shifters searching for available job assignments. Advertisement for recruitment purposes is included in our fee structure and is a key component of how our Operations team assures that you have the needed human capital available to fill your job openings.

HOW DOES SHIFTPIXY HANDLE SPECIAL PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS

ShiftPixy will implement the same procedures that you already have in place for any legally permissible special payroll deductions, such as reimbursements for unreturned equipment.  Part of our client implementation process is a work-flow review that helps us to mirror your policies and procedures and minimize work disruptions.

CAN THE CLOCK IN/OUT LOCATION BE SPECIFIC, IN A BREAK ROOM FOR EXAMPLE?
Yes, we can post a ShiftPixy sign at your on-site location of choice and require employees to take their clock-in selfie there.  Moreover, our app uses geo-fencing capabilities to help ensure that workers are unable to clock-in prior to arriving at the worksite, or clock-out after leaving.
HOW CAN I MAKE SURE THE SHIFTER DOESN'T CLOCK-IN AND LEAVE?
We make every effort to secure reliable Shifters, which involves maintaining an employee rating system that logs prior instances of performance issues like the one in this example. If this occurs, our system will have a missing clock-out punch, at which time we will contact the Shifter to address the issue and, if needed, consult with your worksite manager or shift scheduler.
DOES SHIFTPIXY HAVE AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM ADDRESSING COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS AND SAFETY REGULATIONS?
As ShiftPixy complies with all legal requirements and safety regulations, we mandate that our employees do so as well.  Part of the new-hire onboarding process includes a written acknowledgement of expected employee compliance.
CAN CLIENT-SPECIFIC FORMS BE ADDED TO THE OTHER FORMS SHIFTERS SIGN ELECTRONICALLY?
Yes, if your client has additional requirements as a condition of employment, or they require employees to sign additional forms, those can be included on a case-by-case basis.
HOW DOES SHIFTPIXY CHARGE FOR ITS SERVICES?
We use a mark-up percentage that is applied on top of the employee’s hourly pay rate, which translates into a flat bill-rate per hour charged to you weekly. For example, if you hired an employee being paid $13.00 per hour, and you contract with us at a 34% mark-up rate, then you would be billed $17.42 for each hour worked by that employee that is sourced through the ShiftPixy platform.
DO I HAVE TO PAY ANY FEES IF THERE ARE NO ACTIVE WORKERS?
No, our mark-up rate results in an all-inclusive hourly bill rate, so there are no recurring subscription fees, no setup or onboarding fees, in fact, there’s no additional fees or hidden costs. Our weekly invoicing is based on the total number of hours clocked in by employees that you assign to open job orders on our platform, with no minimums. This will help to increase your cashflow over time.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE HOURLY BILL RATE?
The hourly bill rate includes all legally mandated employer costs ranging from taxes (FICA, FUTA, SUTA, etc.), payroll processing, and worker’s compensation coverage to ancillary recruitment costs such as job ads, SSA check, background screen, and drug testing. By bundling costs and offering volume discounting, we manage to help our clients achieve major cost savings on HCM services compared to what you may be paying to multiple vendors.
DOES IT COST ME TO CONVERT OVER AN EMPLOYEE?

Since we take on a large up-front cost for new hires, and you only get charged an hourly bill rate, we recoup our initial recruitment investment over time, so we require our clients to allow employees to work at least 1,000 hours within the ShiftPixy platform before converting them over to a direct hire. In the case that you do not want to wait that long, our agreement allows you to convert them sooner for a small fee.

DO EMPLOYEES HAVE ACCESS TO 24/7 SUPPORT?
Yes, we provide both our clients and our Shifters around-the-clock access to support.  We also offer multiple ways across various platforms to contact someone at ShiftPixy – live chat via our app and/or website, a toll-free phone hotline, email, and text messaging.
IF MORE THAN ONE EMPLOYEE SELECTS THE SAME SHIFT, HOW IS IT HANDLED?
Should several Shifters apply for the same job (more than the total number needed to fill all open positions), hiring managers will be able to make a selection based on seniority, OT rates, skills, etc. There is also a drop-down menu within each shift that allows you to change the number of open positions to accommodate available workers and to increase or decrease Shifter demand.
HOW CAN I VERIFY THAT THE SHIFTER IS STILL WORKING ON-SITE (WITHOUT HAVING TO CALL OR DO A PHYSICAL SITE VISIT)?
As a manager, you will have access to view exactly where a Shifter is. Should they leave the premises, we can set parameters where you receive a text, and so will the Shifter.
CAN I HAVE MULTIPLE MANAGERS SET-UP TO BE NOTIFIED VIA TEXT IF A SHIFTER IS A NO-SHOW OR WALK-OFF?
Yes, there is a drop-down menu where you can specify which supervisor is notified depending on a status change with the Shifter. The ShiftPixy platform can also be configured to auto-fill your shifts.
BEYOND PART-TIME SHIFTERS, DO YOU OFFER REGULAR OR FULL-TIME WORKERS?
Yes, we have a wide assortment of Shifters interested in various employment opportunities ranging from short-term, temporary gigs to long-term, full-time jobs with steady schedules.
CAN I ONBOARD MY REGULAR EMPLOYEES ONTO THE SHIFTPIXY PLATFORM?
Yes, one of the largest benefits of our HCM program is the cost savings it delivers, which you can extend further by migrating your entire workforce on the ShiftPixy platform. In addition to quality control and service efficiencies made possible by our technology, you will gain access to both direct and indirect cost savings as well as real-time business intelligence.
CAN I HIRE SHIFTERS JUST TO TEMPORARILY FILL-IN FOR SOMEONE WANTING TO GO ON VACATION?
Yes, using Shifters to back-fill for workers on vacation or out sick is a perfect use case for our staff-on-demand platform which gives you access to workers seeking flexibility.
HOW ARE SHIFTERS PAID?
Shifters are typically paid weekly, on Fridays, for the hours that they worked the previous week, unless you request a different payroll cycle, such as bi-weekly. Shifters are given the option of receiving pay via direct deposit, a pay card, or a physical check. Clients, in turn, will receive a weekly invoice based on the previous week’s approved payroll and your bill rate.

We will provide you a copy of our standard pricing proposal and client services agreement (CSA) for you to review, sign, and return. To get started ASAP, we will also need a listing of worker headcount and estimated payroll at each of your worksites, job descriptions for your open positions, and a census of your existing workforce that you would like onboarded onto the ShiftPixy platform. After you return the CSA and workforce information, we will set up an implementation kick-off with our Ops team.
